What precautions will be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19?
We are working hard on our plan to safely operate our summer programs for Summer 2022 at full capacity. As always, the physical and emotional health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority and we are committed to continuing our pattern of open communication with you. As we continue to monitor COVID-19 developments as they emerge, we will share any updates to our camp programs and policies.
Will CGI be running an in-person program for Summer 2022?
YES! Following the success of camp in 2020 and 2021, it has become clear that a CGI summer is possible while adhering to a strict set of CDC + ACA COVID-19 safety guidelines. We are planning to once again operate an in-person summer camp program at full capacity, giving our campers the summer of a lifetime while not compromising on safety standards. As COVID developments continue to emerge, we are working with an expert group of camping professionals to ensure that our program will be a winning combination of safety and Jewish fun rolled into one.
What will the in-person camp program look like in 2022?
After operating camp over two Covid seasons, we can proudly say that we will be having an amazing summer experience for your children. Last year’s program included nearly all the programming of the summer you’ve come to expect at CGI. This year’s program may include some general Covid guidelines that we incorporated last year, but all in all, we look forward to providing a safe action packed summer for your children!
What medical professionals are involved in decisions related to camp programming?
Our medical decisions are guided by the guidelines set forth by the American Camp Association, local experts in NJ, and the CDC. We have also incorporated much of what we have learned from safely operating camp the past 2 summers.
When will you have the updated guidelines for this summer?

We hope to have the updated guidelines by the end of April. As soon as the state guidelines are out, we will update and post our revised gudielines.

We will be following all current state guidelines for Covid-19. For those, you can have a look at last summers handbook. Our handbook will be updated as we get closer to camp.

Where is the campsite located?
The camp is based out of the Rabbinical College in Morristown. We also rent additional space from the neighboring public school for other divisions. Parents will be notified regarding the exact location of your children’s division before camp.
Do you make allowances for children with allergies or those who need medication?
Our camp staff includes a trained camp nurse that is available during all of camp hours to assist campers with their medical needs. The nurse will administer medications as necessary.

Camp Gan Israel is a nut-free facility, but at this time, our paid lunch option does not accomodate other allergies. If there is a serious issue with specific airborne allergies, precautions will be taken to ensure your child a safe and healthy summer.

Can I get a refund if my child doesn't attend camp?

Day-to-day absences due to illness, appointments, or other short-term reasons will not be refunded. If you are aware that your child will be attending camp sporadically, you can arrange a payment plan in advance that suits your schedule.

Gan Israel is dedicated to providing your child with a safe, happy, and fun-filled summer. Parent cooperation is essential. Click on the links below for camp rules, regulations, and expectations. These are updated as often as neccessary to include the latest information on health and safety procedures.
